"All of us in the frontline of ALS research, both in the clinic and in the labs, are deeply grateful to the Timlin family and their associates for hosting the Timlin road race. In past years, this has been wonderfully successful. It has raised substantial research funding, generated good will, and increased public awareness of ALS. The Timlins set an example for commitment that energizes and motivates all of us to do more to find a cure for ALS. When the answer is found, it will be an honor for each of us to have stepped to the plate as a member of this team."

Throughout his career, Dr. Brown has been honored for his exceptional commitment to the fight to cure neuromuscular diseases. He is a world renowned ALS researcher and a Harvard Medical School Professor of Neurology.

"As a first time participant in the Sharon Timlin Memorial 5K Road Race to Cure ALS, I found it to be very well-organized and had a lot of exciting enhancements...numerous fun games and activities for the kids along with a great spread of post race food. The course was enjoyable to run and very well-marked and monitored. And, of course, everyone was excited to see all the Red Sox players and their families in attendance - Curt Schilling, Trot Nixon, Jason Varitek, Jonathan Papelbon and, the star of the day, Mike Timlin and his family. I highly recommend this race to anyone looking for an entertaining and very well run race for the entire family."
